Airports

I am notorious for running late for flights and almost missing my plane.  I've even come up with a system to help avoid the issue:  print my tic at home, no checked bags, don't pack liquids, don't wear a jacket, wear toms

I did all that, waited a solid 30 mins in line, got to the front of the security line and TSA looks at my ticket.  For some effing reason, my name isn't on it.  Obviously they can't check my ID against it and they sent me back to the kiosk to print another ticket.

Take off wouldn't be the same if they didn't have me running through the terminals like a madwoman

Stabbed

I jumped on my counter to grab my travel mug from the top of my cabinet shelf.  I had the cabinet door open, miscalculated my jump, and stabbed myself on my side with the sharp cabinet corner.  I had a big gash and scratch that surprisingly bled out.  I literally curled up in fetal position on my counter screaming in agony like a little baby for a good 10 minutes alone in my apartment.

As I waited for the endorphines to kick in, two thoughts came to mind:
1.  I pray to GOD I never get stabbed by a knife cause that would really hurt
2.  at this moment, I HAVE NEVER BEEN MORE GRATEFUL FOR MY LOVE HANDLES AND THE PROTECTIVE LAYER OF FAT THEY GIVE ME.

Baseball game

STRIKE ONE: I went to a baseball game on what felt like the hottest day of the year.

STRIKE TWO: I have no shame in admitting to the public that I am a sweaty girl.  I sweat sweat sweat, and really do hate it but that's how I am.  I usually try to wear a tank top but I wanted to wear my Giant's t-shirt...which good/bad news is black.  Good because it hides my sweat, bad because it soaked in all the sun rays.

STRIKE THREE: The guy I'm with tells me he has to go to the bathroom.  He leaves our seats and I'm curious about what my sweaty pit status is.  I'm lifting my arms to looks, check, and feel my pits to see what damage has been done when I'm interrupted by someone.  I hear "oops, forgot my glasses", and I froze because I knew he caught me.

The woes of online dating

Online dating is a fascinating and annoying concept, IMO.  I did a test trial to see what the hype was all about and had met someone who, initially was interesting.  After exchanging several messages and contact info, I decided I wasn't into the whole deal.  I let him down easy and wished him luck on his journey for love.

Side note, this was several months ago, probably in the beginning of the year.

Last night I receive this most random email from this guy:

Subject: Phil Wickham- Divine Romance
"Check out this video on YouTube:

http://youtu.be/VBDLAZFLfIM"

I thought it may have been spam, but after much deliberation, clicked on the link.  Wth is this??  We don't speak for several months and I get this nonsense?  If you are weary of clicking on the link it is a poorly done slide show of flowers, sky, maybe kittens...I don't know.  I stopped watching fairly quickly after opening it.

Gift card toss

I ran errands the other day at Target.  One thing I bought was a $25 visa gift card from Target.  Came home, totally forgot about the gift card when I was unloading the bags.  Left the card in the Target bag (which I immediately used for garbage)  and tossed the bag down my trash chute.

Ugh, some dumpster diver just got $25 richer.

Dishwasher

Over the weekend, I bought a new macaron mat to test out.  Unfortunately it came in an kit that included a weird piping tool, which made for a very pricey set.  I decided to spend the $$$ anyway.

The good news:  the mat worked great!
The bad news:  the piping tool was weird and different than what I was used to, but since I spent the dinero on it, I'm totally going to use it.

I put all my dishes in the dishwasher, set it, and ran my errands.  Came back to find out the dishwasher knob jammed or something, so it was on VERY HIGH HEAT for the several hours I was gone.  I stopped it, opened up the dishwasher and my metal bowls were scalding to touch.  My brand new, very pricey macaron piper tool melted and reformed, along with one of my (obviously not) dishwasher safe bowls.

Le sigh.  I didn't realize I bought a one time use/disposable macaron kit!

BSB concert

I'm no good at keeping up with my blog posts but I think I have developed new inspiration to start logging all my hot mess situations just because they happen so frequently.

On Friday I went to the backstreet boys concert in irvine with my college friend who moved down here for dental school.  K literally lives down the street from me now which is pretty awesome.  After coming home from work at 8am, I took a quick 3 hr nap... Grabbed a coffee, picked her up and headed to the OC.  K was gonna stay in the OC with her bf that night so I didn't have to take her back with me after the concert.

We met up with another friend, S, that lives there over there and she drove us to the concert.  After waiting in the parking lot for over an hour (never again!!) , I finally headed back home.  I got back at 2am only to realize I left my wallet in S's car!!!

I felt horrible for calling and waking up K, but I had to.

Me: I left my wallet in the car
K: did you get any of my texts?
Me: no
K:  my bf never picked up his phone so I couldn't get in the house.  S had to drive me all the way back, I'll be home soon!

That situation actually really sucked for the both of them but worked out incredibly well for me because my wallet was in the back of her car!!
